Fulfillment Update!

Hey folks!
Hope your summer is going well so far! We just wanted to take a moment and update you all on our status for US fulfillment.
At this time, we've officially begun processing orders and shipping out packages - hooray! Our apologies for the short delay as well. We've been wrapping up a separate campaign and now that that's been completed, it's full steam ahead for Free the Darkness!
We're still several months ahead of our projected fulfillment schedule, though, so hang tight! These GORGEOUS books will be in your hands soon! :)
US Backers: Locking Addresses in 48 hours!

Hey there, partners!
We're very excited to be able to share with you all that the books have been received by our shipping partner here in the US as of this afternoon! Woohoo!! They've told us that, tentatively, they expect to get to work on shipping this campaign around the 12th of this month!
To prepare for that, though, let's finalize your addresses...
As with our international backers, everyone in the US can generally expect the same process. Starting with finalizing and locking addresses for US backers! You can expect an email from Backerkit today informing you of a 48-hour window to make final changes before they lock.

If you are expecting a change of address in the next few weeks, either provide your new address or a different permanent address that's close enough for you to pick them up.

When this window expires, we cannot guarantee that we'll be able to change the address before your pledge ships.

Once addresses lock, we'll start packing and shipping books! Please be aware that we don't pack and ship in order of backer number, but in groups of similar orders.For example, if 100 people ordered a book we'll pack and ship all those orders before moving on to the next group.

When your order ships you will get an email with tracking information. Please be aware that it may take a day or two for the tracking information to update.
If you have questions at any point in this process, please send us a message here on Kickstarter or via email at [email protected]. Even though it is rare, it may take us up to 3 business days to respond and we do not work on holidays or weekends. We appreciate your patience.
US Shipping Update: Likely Delay due to Poor Weather

Hi, everyone!
We wanted to follow up on our last update to give everyone here a heads-up that we may experience some delays in US fulfillment. We're still expecting the books to arrive at the port of Houston later this month, however, there will likely be some delays in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.
Current reporting suggests about 500k people have been without power for nearly a week. This, with significant flooding and ongoing heat waves, is obviously going to impact both essential and non-essential businesses of all kinds, our fulfillment partner included.
We have been able to confirm that everyone is safe, but contact with them is limited. We will update you all as we hear more developments as the city gets back online.

International Fulfillment Starting this week! With one small exception...

Hi Everyone!
Quick update for y'all today!
For International Backers...
With the addresses for international orders locked, we've sent all that information over to our fulfillment partner for processing. It may take them a couple of days to get everything sorted and out the door, but we expect that orders will start shipping out by the end of this week at the latest!
With one exception, which we'll get to a little later in this update.
For US Backers...
We're expecting the books to arrive at the port of Houston sometime later this month. Once we have more concrete dates for that delivery we'll update y'all here to lock addresses so we can get things rolling as soon as they get here. Stay tuned!
Just like with international backers, there's one exception. See below.
For those of you with copies of The War of the Worlds...
Because of the way production wound up working for this campaign, we got the books printed way ahead of some of our other projects. Notably, The War of the Worlds. If this applies to you, we'll be shipping out your copies of Free the Darkness when we start your batch of fulfillment. For international orders, that's this week. For US orders that will be in a few weeks. For your copies of The War of the Worlds, however, we'll ship them out once that campaign starts fulfillment!
We're expecting those books to wrap production by the end of the month or early August, so it shouldn't be that far behind. That said, because of the delay between these two shipments, you can expect us to reach out to you directly here on Kickstarter or via Email before sending those out make sure your shipping addresses haven't changed.

We'd intended to post this yesterday, so sorry for the late update! That said, as we mentioned in our previous update, we're going to be locking addresses for international backers! You can expect an email from Backerkit today informing you of a 48-hour window to make final changes before they lock.

Once addresses lock, we'll provide our international fulfillment partner with the shipping list for this campaign. They will generally begin fulfillment within a day of receipt, however, depending on their workload it may take up to two weeks for them to begin fulfillment (though this is rare). Please be aware that our fulfillment partner packs and ships pledges in an order that maximizes their efficiency. It is not something that we dictate to them.

A Note for Backers in the UAE...
To avoid excessive delays in shipping, please make sure to supply a PO Box number in addition to your address information. We have had repeated issues delivering pledges without them.

As we mentioned previously, we expect the US portion of the books to arrive with our shipping partner in the next 6-8 weeks. As we get updates on that we'll continue to update you here!
